Our Team

Who are we?

Remembering Together is run by a team of directors and volunteers who all have lived experience of traumatic bereavements and/or supporting bereaved people. We use creative and collaborative ways to support bereaved people. Peer connection is available via our Facebook group. At our workshops, drop-ins and events, we will listen without judging or intruding.

Director and Project Leader: Caroline Aldridge

Caroline is a social worker, independent trainer and author. After her eldest son, Tim, died unexpectedly, she wrote He Died Waiting: Learning The Lessons – A Bereaved Mother’s View of Mental Health Services. Caroline uses textile arts, such as quilting and mixed media collage, to manage her emotions, process her feelings and express herself. She has been supporting bereaved people voluntarily for several years and she uses different creative methods to create safe spaces for people to connect with each other.

Director and volunteer: Emma Corlett

Emma is an ex-mental health nurse who has been supporting bereaved people for years. She has strong community links in and around Norwich and is a trustee/non-executive director for a community cafe, a domestic violence charity and a homelessness prevention project. Caroline and Emma co-authored They Died Waiting – The Crisis in Mental Health – Stories of Loss and Stories of Hope which involved supporting traumatically bereaved people to tell their stories via creative writing and textile arts.

Director and volunteer: Heather Coleman

Heather is our Treasurer. She is a retired teacher who is experienced at sewing. Heather’s daughter died by suicide. She believes that people deal with grief in so many ways and they need the kind of non-invasive support and help that Remembering Together offers.

Director and volunteer: Laura Hudson

Laura works in recruitment. She enjoys all kinds of crafting. She contributed to They Died Waiting and found that writing her chapter and creating her square for the quilt, helped her make some sense of losing her Mum to suicide.

Director and volunteer: Andrew Aldridge

Andrew is a semi-retired timber merchant and experienced woodworker. He supports his wife, Caroline, in her work with bereaved people. He has lost two family members in unexpected deaths. He is particularly interested in finding ways of supporting men who have been bereaved.

Volunteer: Diane Evans

Volunteer: Janet Wright

Volunteer: Lisa Fairbrother

Having retired as an accounts and payroll administrator with a building firm, Lisa enjoys cooking, baking, and socialising with friends and family. Lisa supports local activities and groups.

Volunteer: Hayley Hayward-Boyle

Hayley is an abstract artist who loves colour. She found being creative was the best way to help her process her own ill health and trauma.  Hayley has worked for many years with children from babies up to eighteen years old, including those with disabilities and learning difficulties. She is also trained in wellbeing and mental health. Hayley is passionate about art being for all. She loves baking vegan cakes, enjoying a pot of tea, spending time with her husband and family by the sea and especially loves volunteering at our children and family sessions.
